dI have been asked many times by me clients- what`s the secret of creating the perfect 2D Animation Explainer Video for my business?
The secret is  in the perfect balance formula of a pro voice-over, matching the style of the video style; also great storyboard with strong opening and closure, plus really good animation above all this.
Below you will read about these main video points further ...

Storyboard is the first step for great 2D animation explainer video.

If you heard that a picture is worth a thousand words....well they were right. We first need the words in our case though! Every good video comes with a professional script- most cases done by a scriptwriter, carefully prepared for the purpose and current campaigns of your business. Your illustrator, the scriptwriter and you should be all on the same page on this, following the main points of the campaign and the best way of visualizing them. The storyboard serves as a main compass of what should be happening throughout the video and should be separated by scenes: Scene1, Scene2, Scene3 etc. A special document is prepared for this purpose, containing 3 graphs- voice, scene illustration and action. This refers to when the voice-over reads a line what exactly is being drawn on the screen and what is the sequence of animation actions. Usually this document is prepared by the project leader, and he is the person to coordinate all proper communication between illustrator, animator, voice actor and scriptwriter.
Only with a perfect synchronization  of  these there could be a perfect 2d animation video.

Voice-over or where should I look for one?

Let me tell you from now- the perfect voice-over is a hard thing to find! There are as many actors out there as much as there are illustrators and animators, but the one perfectly fitting your specific animation project might be a hard thing to find. In addition, those that are REALLY good costs thousands and are not very easy to hire asap. A good place to look for affordable voice-actors would be FIVERR and UPWORK, where a good studio recording and the following commercial rights for broadcast could be purchased for anything in between $100 and $200 per minute. Your script for the voice-over should be ready and polished, because most of them charge for additional changes. You should also communicate the style of the animation video with them, so they know what tone of voice they should use and speed. These might look like small factors in the beginning, but on a later stage, when your animation comes to life, you will see what I mean by this. Take my advice as granted in this case, and explain the voice actor very well the emotions and style he needs to follow.

Animation and Illustrations- are these separate people to hire?

Often clients wonder whether they should hire different people for the animation and the illustrations. In most cases that is likely so, because being an animator doesn`t necessarily mean you are illustrator as well. Sometime some animators and creators of Explainer videos and 2D Animations use pre-bought templates with character, scenes and animation elements.  You need to have a good discussion with your animator AND  if you dont want your video to look like many many others which are made of his library, it will be better if you have the budget to hire illustrator in addition. They two need to work in team together, due the specific requirements of files building for animation. This makes the animation video costlier most of the times, but which much much higher payout in the future. You, as everyday goods buyer, should know better than anyone else, that sometimes the higher the price, the better the quality. Keep that in mind when choosing the proper approach to creating your 2d animation.
